Swimming in Bacalar Lagoon as the sun was rising
I dont know about you but when I am in water there is no lowlight!
Itinerary Overview
Best Swimming spots!
- Cenotes in Homún, Yucatán
Hiring an ATV to visit and swim in 10 cenotes over 2 days!
- Bacalar Lagoon in Bacalar, Quintana Roo
Enjoying the amazing blue colours of the lagoon, relaxing on the peer all day for free! Sunrise sail boat ride and swimming in 2 Cenotes on the lagoon.
- Scuba Diving in Isla Cozumel, Quintana Roo
Scuba diving amongst the worlds second largest great barrier reef. Here I saw nurse sharks, turtles, sting rays, thousands of corals, lobsters and hundreds of different species of fish!
- Snorkelling in Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo
Snorkelling for hours and hours at Garrafón de Castilla with crystal clear water (the clearest I have ever seen!), vibrantly coloured fish and corals.

Homún Visiting Cenotes!
Homún was suggested to us from a lady who lives in Merida and loves visiting Cenotes on her days off. We were able to enjoy most of these Cenotes completely alone! the water is so still, completely see through and very nourishing! Watching the light shine through and hit the water is incredible.

undefined Enjoy the beautiful Lagoon
Here in Bacalar we spent a week swimming every day enjoying the beautiful lagoon. We accessed the Lagoon at a public entry point at Muelle Ecologico. This entrance was completely free. Dont bring valuables so you can swim far into the Lagoon.

Cozumel Scuba Diving amongst the worlds second largest barrier reef
We went diving through Phocea Mexico. The cost of our two tank dive was $165 USD. This included transportation from Playa del Carmen and back too playa del carmen, lunch, all equipment and 2 tanks. Although pricey this experience was incredible. Being deep in water able to get up close to breathtaking marine life was phenomenal!

Isla Mujeres Snorkelling and Swimming
Snorkelling at Garrafón de Castilla was spectacular! The water was crystal clear! we snorkelled here for roughly 4 hours over 2 days. This snorkel sport had hundreds of vibrant fish, loads of coral and other beautiful things to discover.
